Nice day on the Cape Fear 8/13/10

Had the pleasure of going with Barry and John today inshore fishing the river between Snows Cut and the ADM docks.

Hit the last of the rising tide, and a good flounder bite. Lots of small ones, but enough keepers for some great meals.

Neat thing was after 3-4 years trying Barry got his first Redfish!!! Not a monster, but I'd be happy with it!!!

Crossed the river and up a creek, and more Flounder and a nice Tripletail.
Gulp Smelt, and live finget mullet. Shallow water.
Two absolutly GREAT guys to fish with!!!

I didn't know we had tripletail inshore in our waters. I always thought that was a offshore fish that hung around structure, sort of like a mahi

They are not all that common in the river, but some are caught.
Jeff Wolfe does a pretty good job catching them. They will sometimes hang around crabpots.
