Headed offshore about 6 this morning and decided to run straight south to the 270 line. 5 minutes after lines in, we get nailed on the spreader bar. We were stoked till we saw the man in the brown suit. The shark was about 5-6' long and decided he wanted no part of us so we started to settle in for the fight when fortunally for us and him, he bit thru the leader at the hook. Lines back in and almost immediatly put a decent blackfin in the box. 10 minutes after that we had a double. One decent blackfin and one albie. Released the albie and continued on. Slowed down after that till about 1100 when we had a triple knockdown at the 310 line out in about 1000' Boated all 3 yellowfin which averaged about 20#. For the next hour, we had the wahoo come thru, bite the planer rod, and then cut us off. Ended up 0-2 on the hoo's. Started trolling north where we found the fleet again at around the 400. We had decided to just troll straight thru and then head into the shallows and call it a day. As we were breaking out of the circle, we had 2 knockdowns. Boated 2 more yellowfin which put us at 5 for the day. Tally for the trip was 5 YFT, and 2 decent blackfin. Weather was beautiful, and we cruised in at 45 mph. Great trip!
