Catchin' (for the log) 08/05-08/06/10 -- MHC and Bogue Inlet

TimC, his friend Mike, and I went offshore Sunday. We didn't have high expectations since we''ve never done much after a storm. We were strictly targeting wahoo.

It was a beautiful day on the water. The wind was okay. The first knock-down was a 4-5ft shark. The second we thought was a 'hoo, but turned out to be a 20-25lb cuda. Wore Mike out.

Monday Tim and I went out of Bogue Inlet for a 1/2 day trip. We trolled Southeast bottoms for a while. It was just Tim and I so we didn't feel any pressure. Ended up steaming over to keypost just off BIP. He jigged up 7 or 8 grey trout. I didn't jig up anything but it was fun getting to fish a little for a change. We packed it in about noon. It was good to fish for fun for a change. We've been fishing KMTs for a month and a half and they aren't that much fun -- unless of course we win.

Thanks Tim and Mike for your help. We'll get in to them next time.

Thanks for the report...its been tough down here as well. The first I ever heard of jigging up wheat fish. Learn something new everyday...
