You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to fish on the big blue. Well maybe a few degrees cooler would have been nice. Topsail Angler and myself headed out at 6:30 am today to try our hand at enticing a king bite. It's been almost a month since we've brought one to gaff so we had high hopes of getting er done today. First stop was right off of the beach just north of Topsail Inlet. Picked up a nice Spanish and Bluefish but not what we were looking for. Next stop AR362. Another decent Spanish. From there we hit 18 mile rock, 12 mile rock, Dallas Rocks and back to the beach. No kings and no other bites for the day. Enjoyed fishing with Mike once again and hoping for better bites in the days ahead.

Here's Mike with the two Spanish

Enjoyed fishing with you as always Gery. Guess we were too far off the beach.... I saw on another forum that there was a 40 pound king caught on Jolly Roger Pier this morning.
