It was bound to happen

Post by Hunter's Haven on Tue Aug 03, 2010 3:16 pm

I'm just getting back in from an outing with my youngest daughter Christina. We left out the inlet around 7:30 this morning and headed toward the 12 mile rocks. We caught some nice kings there a couple weeks ago. Got the spread out with high anticipation of hooking up. Nothing biting so started back toward the beach. After a couple hours picked up and ran in just off Topsail Inlet. Nothing, that's right NA DA... it finally happened...It's been a long time since we've come home empty but it happened today. Only chatter on the radio a couple boats hooked up some spanish early around Masons but that was it. Good Lord willing there'll be a next time and we'll go after them again!

ps: checked my new SPOT messenger twice and it worked like a charm.

You bet i did. Banana sandwiches! They sure were good! I'll respect others wishes to not have them on their boat but on my boat I eat them. Even if I don't catch fish I'm not giving in to superstition.

No shame here. I just choose not to believe in superstition. To each their own. I enjoyed a great day on the water with my daughter. Catching fish would have been a bonus.

Not to worry. I don't take them on anyone else's boat. Only mine and I've caught plenty of fish while eating them. But I do respect the wishes of others. So far I've only had one outing where I didn't catch a fish so the odds are good.
